About MeHello! My name is Brandon Jackson and I teach 5th grade at Hardy Elementary. I live in Arlington, Massachusetts with my wife and our two wonderful pets: a six-year-old mini golden doodle named Cooper and a 3-year-old cat named Pippa. I grew up in Maryland, but have lived here in Massachusetts since 2012. Before that, I went to college at the University of Tampa where I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. But it was my draw for learning that lead me back to school to pursue a career in education. In the Spring of 2016, I graduated with a Master of Education in Elementary Education at Lesley University.

Teaching Style |
What I love most about teaching is seeing how excited students can be about learning. Every day is a new experience for both myself and for my students. You see, although this is my first year as a classroom teacher, I have been in the classroom for the last four years. It's been fantastic and I've found my favorite -- and most effective -- way to teach is through play-based learning. So in my class, your kids can expect to play a lot of educational games -- as well as games that teach leadership, conflict resolution strategies, and teamwork, in order to create life long habits and great memories.

My Favorite Things |
My favorite thing aside from teaching and learning is having fun with my family. My wife and I love cooking, and we especially enjoy going on adventures, like the trip we took to Jamaica last summer and our trip to England and Scotland this summer. I also love playing outside, and grew up enjoying sports like baseball, basketball, and soccer. I still love sports, but these days I'm usually found outside playing golf or tennis or inside rooting for my favorite sports teams.
